Travelling and trips
Travelling is very popular in the 21th century and that is why it is so common. People all around the world travel for various reasons. One of them is tourism especially during holidays. Others travel for a scientific purpose. Many people like travelling because it is exciting. I will say something about travelling in general, then I will mention some means of transport and their advantages and disadvantages and I will add some more information about documents which we need to travel abroad. Finally I will tell you something about me and travelling during holidays.
Firstly, I think that travelling and trips are the most common during holidays, when people have so many free time. They just don’t like to sit at home and watch films or something like that, but they want to see new places, they want to discover new cultures and improve foreign language or just enjoy the weather and take a suntan.
Secondly, I’d like to mention some means of transport. We can divide it into a private and a public. The private transport includes cars, motorbikes, bicycles and so. The public one includes trams, underground, trains and so.
In addition, I’d like to say something about advantages and disadvantaged of travelling by plane, train car or coach. So, I think that flying is great because it’s the fastest way to travel and it’s comfortable. On the other hand, it is very expensive and it’s also bad for the environment. Trains are slower than planes, but still quite fast and they are much cheaper and I think that they are also comfortable. But they cost more than coaches or buses. When travelling by a car, you can stop wherever you want to take a break and you can also see the sights along the way. For me the train is the best mean of transport when travelling to long distances, because it’s comfortable, I can do many things during journey and what’s more, I have train free, because father worked for České dráhy.
Should I speak about documents which we need to travel abroad, I would mention passport or just Czech ID card, when you travel within the EU states. However, I have to say that they don’t normally check IDs. Some countries require a visa or some other permission to enter the country. In that case you have to apply for it at that country’s embassy. You should also have a health and travel insurance.
In the end of my speech I will speak about me and travelling during holidays. I have to say, that I haven’t been to many countries. I have been to Italy when I was 6 or something like that and then I have been to Montenegro when I was 12. I visited also Slovakia and some really interesting places in the Czech Republic, such as Český ráj, Adřšpašsko-teplické skály or nature reserve SOOS near Cheb. But nowadays I normally spend my summer and also winter holidays at a camp in the village Bližná, which is near the reservoir Lipno. Last year I was there the whole holidays and this year I will also be there. But I like it, because there are so many people I know and I enjoy the time with them. However, I don’t like small children much, so I always try to have older children in my group.
