Shopping
I will start with shopping in general, I will continue with types of shops and different ways of paying. Then I will say some words about sales and discounts and I will end with Internet shopping. Finally I will say my attitude to the shopping.
We can divide shopping in 2 types. There is a food shopping, which people do almost every day, because they want to eat fresh products. In fact, I don’t think that this is the shopping, which wastes our time. I think that the second type of shopping is much more time-consuming and it’s the cloth shopping. Everybody wants to look good, everybody knows the proverb that “The tailor makes the man.” That’s why people spend a lot time in a shop and that’s why it’s an important part of our lives.
Should I speak about types of shops, I’d start with shopping centres and small local shops. Shopping centres are large shops, where is everything from food to clothes and other goods. You can find there shops selling different things (books, toys, shoes etc.). When you enter the shopping centre, you won’t be definitely alone and if you spend there some time, the shopping centre convinces you to stay there as long as possible. There is also always a music, which will definitely fool you. On the other side, there are local shops. I have to say that I like them more than shopping centres. In shopping centres you can buy everything you need, but in local shops you often know some people who work there, local shops are also close to my home. And I know just where the things are in the shop so I can get them quickly. I prefer local shops, even though they are more expensive.
In addition, I will say something about ways of paying in shops. Nowadays we can almost everywhere pay by a credit card, but we can certainly everywhere pay in cash. When we pay in cash we don’t need a card and we realize how much money I can spend and we usually don’t spend that much. When we pay by card it’s much easier to pay and we don’t have to carry a lot of money. On the other hand we risk that we will lose our card and then somebody can use it.
As for sales and discounts, it’s the time when goods are sold for a lower price than the original and you can buy something for a half price or get some money off the product. Big sales are usually after Christmas or at the end of the summer when the shops are trying to sell the leftover stock.
Now, I will say some words about Internet shopping. You can buy lots of different things there, it’s easy, it’s cheaper and you don’t have to leave your home. What’s more, if you want to buy something unusual, it’s easier to find it online. On the other hand, you might get the wrong product, wrong size or the product just doesn’t come. Also the postage can be expensive.
Finally, I’d like to describe my attitude to the shopping. I absolutely hate shopping, it’s really boring for me, there are big queues and it’s definitely a waste of time for me. What’s more when I do food shopping I always need a shopping list, because I can’t remember what is needed. The cloth shopping is even worse, because I always spend a lot of time with it. All in all, I’d avoid shopping if I could or I’d go only a couple of times a year.
