THE HOUSING IN THE UK AND IN THE ČR
Houses in Britain are built usually of bricks (cihel), red and grey-yellow). There is no plaster (omítka) on it
There are three main types of housing in Britain:
Terraced house (řadovka): several houses, usually two-storey, joint (spojené) together in a row (řadě) or tercce
Semi-detached house (dvojdomek): a pair of houses joint together
Detached house: a singel house, completely separate from any other
Other houses: Bungalov: i sone-storey, there are usually detached. Flats , housing estates (sídliště), cottages,
In Čr there are almost same types of houses:
Flats, terraced house, semi-detached house, cottages (chata), chalet (horská chata), a villa, or some people can live in bed-sit (garsonka). Here i salso retirement homes for old people

Living room (obývák): couch (sofa) – pohovka, chair, reclining chair, coffe table, lamp, Picture, wardrobes, shelves (police)
Kitchen: stove (sporák), oven (trouba), fridge, freezer, sink (umyvadlo, dřez), diswasher (myčka), table, chairs, kitchen unit (linka)
Bedroom: bed, dressing table (toaletní stolek), closet (šatník), picture, curtains (záclony)
Bathroom: sink, bath, shower, toilet, mirror
Study (pracovna): desk with computer, book-case, chair, wardrobe
Children´s room: bed, desk with komputer, wardrobe, chair, book-case, armchair (křeslo)

Flat:
Advantage: Living in flat is more comfortable, less expensive, smaller and better for keeping tidy (udržení pořádku)
Disadvantage: there is no privacy. People must be quiet because neighbors. It is also difficult to keep pets in flat.
House:
Advantage: a lot of place, garden, pool, they can also hold barbecue parties for friends, everybody has own room
Disadvantage: a lot of cleaning, more household duties, look after to garden, mow the lawn (sekat trávu). It is also more expensive to live in, especially with bill of warm and water in winter, and difficult maintenance us there is always something that needs repair.

the people must doing some chores in thein houses for example:
water the plants, wash up (mýt nádobí), cook (make breakfast, tea) hoover (vysávat), tidy up (uklízet), wash the floor hang linen on the line (věšet prádlo) dust the furniture
iron (žehlit), dry the dishes (utírat nádobí), gardening (dig, weed-plít, seed), air the room (vyvětrat), sweep with broom (zametat)
- living in a city x in a village
Town:
Advantage: there is lot of schools and shopping facilities in town. There are more jobs available, better housing, cultural and sporting facilities and hospitals. People often work close to the place where they live and do not have commute (nemusí dojíždět).
Disadvantage: there is lot of noise, busy traffic (rušná doprava), polluted air and water or smog above city. Peple live in tall block of flats on housing estates. Lot of people go on holiday on village, Because there are nature and beautiful countryside.
Village:
Advantage: beautiful nature with forests, lakes, and fields. There are no factories so there are fresh air. People mostly live in detached houses with gardens where they can grow fruit and vegetables. There isn’t noise by cars
disadvantage : bad transport, most people must go to towns for job, because there isn’t very much possibilities. There are a little services and shops. The shops have limited offer of goods. Pupils and students must commute to school every day. There are also few possibilities to participate (účastnit se) in culture life. Disadvantage is that everyone knows everyone. Sometimes there can be bore.
