HOUSING
- WHERE DO I LIVE? = I live in Hradec Králové in a flat. It has four bedrooms, one living room, a hall, balcony, kitchen with dining room, rest room and bathroom. It is in fourth floor.
- HOW DOES MY ROOM LOOK LIKE? = I like my room very much and I feel very good there. It is very light-colored with purple decorations. There is a metal bed, a wardrobe with mirror, case, desk, a rug and two lamps. There is also flower sticker above my bed. I really don´t like mess so I am trying to keep my room as tidy as I can.
- PROS AND CONS OF TOWN AND VILLAGE = I prefer living in town because there is more facilities how to spend free time. There is always what to do. There are many schools, shops and everything is near there. Unfortunately, there are many residential areas (estates) in
Czech towns. If you live in village, you are in nature. But it can be complicated to get to city and buy some necessary things. - FAMILY BUDGET = Every family should think about money and decide which expenses are really important and necessary. The most important recurrent expenses are on food, transport, water, electricity, heating, rent, telephones, media, internet, household, clothes, shoes, petrol … There are also unexpected expenses which can cause many
But there are not only expenses. We can also win the money, inherits and so on … But it is still very important to save money! - HOUSING IN THE UK = Most people in the United Kingdom live in houses, except big cities, where more people live in flats. The most common houses are …
Apartment buildings = a building divided into flats
Detached houses = a house for one family ; standing alone
Semi-detached houses = a house, which is connected to another one
Terraced houses = line of houses which are connected
I visited the United Kingdom in 2007 and stayed in family which had a terraced house. I liked it very much, because it was very different from houses in our country.
