Healthy lifestyle, looking after oneself
I think that health is the most important thing in our lives. Everyone knows it, but when we are healthy, we usually don’t appreciate it. We realize it only when we or someone of our close relatives get ill. Nowadays, there are more and more illnesses, which people didn’t know before, but they can be very dangerous. Scientists still can’t find medicines to cure some of them, so we can only hope not to get them. Or try to live healthy.
Now, I’d like to say something about a prevention and some ways of staying healthy. First of all, I’d say, that it’s necessary to take care of our body by doing some physical activity, like taking exercises, walking regularly, going cycling or doing some type of sport.
Secondly, it’s a great idea to have balanced diet. I don’t think that really healthy diet is the best. In my opinion, it’s much better to make some balanced diet, which includes vegetable, fruit, meat, fibre, but also a little bit fat. It’s important to reduce sugar and junk food, because being overweight can cause a lot of health problem such as diabetes or other serious illnesses.
In addition, I’d say that it’s not really good idea to smoke, drink too much or take drugs, because it can cause for example a cancer. But I don’t think that it’s necessary not drink at all. Many scientists say, that a glass of wine is salutary for our health. It’s almost the same with smoking. Sometimes it’s better to smoke a little bit, when you are nervous, than being stressed. Some doctors say that stress is one of the biggest reasons to get some serious diseases, and I agree with it. We should try to avoid stress. It can be hard, but I think that there are some things which could help, such as sport, more relaxing, less work, social life and so on.
Finally, I’d like to say some words about my lifestyle. I think that my lifestyle is more or less healthy. I don’t eat meat often, but when I eat it, it’s mostly a fish, because mother’s partner likes going fishing. I totally dislike fat, it’s not really my cup of tea. What I like is fruit and vegetable and salads made from it. So I think that my diet is quite balanced. What’s more, I go running a few time per week, I cycle to school every day and I take some exercises at home. Finally, I play the guitar and I like listening to music and in my opinion it’s good for my health too. At least scientists say it.
