Great personality
It isn?t simple to say who is great personality, but my meaning is, that
great personality is an unusual person, who had done something for the mankind.
Because I?m a women I introduce you some of famous women, because I thing,
that famous women had more harder live than the man. I admire the first
suffragettes. The suffragette movement started in the middle if the 19th
century. Women demanded not only right to vote, but also better education for
girls. There were strong opposition, many men argued, that women were less
intelligent and more emotional than men, and therefore could not make important
decisions. This right woman got in Britain about eighty years ago. This law gave
women in Britain the right to vote the first time. The right for vote is also
called the suffrage. The women who fought for this right were called
suffragettes. In many countries the women?s fight was long and hard.
And why I told this you? Because I will now talk about first female-Nobel
Prizewinner. Her name is Marie Currie Sklodowska, and she get this prize for
physic with her husband in the year 1903 and the second she get in the year 1912
for chemistry. She with her husband discovered the radioactivity of thorium and
discover also two new elements – polonium and radium. After her husband died she
taught on Sorbonne. She was there the first female-professor. Since the year
1914 she led the Institute du radium in Paris. She died in the year 1934. Her
daughter Irena also with her husband get Nobel Prize for chemistry in year 1934,
because they discovered the synthetic radioactivity.
Another great woman was Mother Teresa. She was also known as an Angel from
Kalkatha. She looked after the poorest of poorest in India and she was a founder
of holy orders of nuns, but I don?t remember the name of this order. She
got the Nobel Prize for Peace in the year 1979. She died in the year 1997.
The women about I want tell you now, was just a girl. I think
Anne Frank. Her diary read many people. She was only sixteen when she died in
the concentration camp in Bergen-Belsen, in the end of the World War II., in the
year 1945. When she have four year she with her family immigrate to Holland.
After the occupation of this land they hid on the loft and there they lived for
some years. A short time before the end of the war the Nazis found them,
and they went to the concentration camp. Anna wrote the whole time a diary
about her life in the hiding place.
Other great woman was the princess Diana. She get divorce with her husband
prince Charles. Her destiny was a little bit similar to Mother Teresa. She
looked after the poor, after the uncured ills, about children without the home.
After the war conflicts – she was a founder of movement opposite down one?s
foot mine. She died on the 31 August in a road accident with her fiancé
Dodi Al Fayded.
