We live in the world surrounded by architecture and art. We come into contact with art all our lives. If we have art talent, in a few years we can learn art.
In our everyday life we also meet with works of the fine arts, either architecture, sculptures or painting. We see secular (světský) and ecclesiastical (církevní) buildings. For example castles, chateaux, palaces, country, churches, cathedrals, chapels and monasteries or cemeteries. We must admire (obdivovat) the art of architecture of the old builder-masters, masons. In museums and art galleries, which display (zobrazení) sculptures (sochy) and paintings. We look with pleasure (potěšení) at statues and sculptural from marble (mramor), carved in wood (vyřezávané do dřeva) or moulded in lay (modelované z hlíny), plaster (sádra) or bronze (bronz).
Each building has own architecture style here are some of them: the Romanesque style (St. George’s Basilica), the Gothic style (St. Vitus Cathedral), the Renaissance style (Belvedere), the Baroque style (St. Paul’s Cathedral), the Rococo style (Kinský Palace), the Neo-Classical style (US Capitol), the Neo-Gothic style (Houses of parliament, the National Theatre), Art Nouveau style (Church of the Holy Family, the Municipal House), the Modernist style and the Post-Modernist style.
Paintings schools are consist of great Italian painting, surrealism, impressionism, realism, abstract paintings, American contemporary paintings etc.
Art in New York
There are many cultural institutions in NY. The Time Square is centre of theatre district. Here are some museums: the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum – it’s an unusual (neobvyklá) round building (kruhová budova) of concrete (beton) with a glass dome (prosklená kopule). It illuminates (osvětlovat) the building with natural light. There are paintings by such masters as Marc Chagall, Modigliani and Picasso.
Prague
There are many cultural institutions – museums, art galleries, theatre with rich decorations (bohatá dekorace).
Édouard Manet
I love Édouard Manet, because I love impressionism. He was French Impressionist painter. I love his painting “breakfast in the grass”. The painting was exhibited at the Salon of rejected (salon odmítnutých). In the picture, there are two men with one woman in the grass. People are sitting in the grass and have a breakfast. Woman is naked (nahá) men clothing. Painting was a big derision (výsměch) of the audience (publikum) and critics (kritici).
